Website Design Proposal

For:  Vermont Horse Council

Draft New Website:  https://vthorsecouncil.squarespace.com (log in as visitor to view)

Background:

I’ve been working on websites for over 10 years.  Last year I started my own business, MW Website Design.  I have switched over almost all of the websites I created to a secure, online website platform called Squarespace.  I started the Town of Craftsbury’s website over 10 years ago and recently changed that over to Squarespace as well.  Squarespace offers dynamic, clean templates that can be customized for each client.  They also have a responsive design with over 500 million websites created so far.   The best feature about Squarespace is that after the template is set up, most clients can continue updating their own website afterwards if they chose to.

Goals:

I have looked over the current website in-depth.  The internet changes constantly and it’s important to review websites every 3-5 years to see if it is meeting your goals.  I found the current website’s navigation to be confusing. I also felt the layout and design was outdated.  My biggest concern is that the website isn’t responsive, mobile friendly.   As of April, Google is penalizing ranking for websites that aren’t mobile friendly when being viewed from a mobile device.

I realize that information on the draft website draft I created will need updating; I just wanted to give you an idea of my vision for your site.

Project Estimate Costs:
My normal rate is $100/page.  Because Vt. Horse Council is a non-profit, I have included a discount rate for you.  The hourly rate is reduced as well.

Develop Website        —        $300 (includes all website revisions for the first month)

Squarespace               —        $96/year including hosting

Updates                       —        $25/hour or unlimited annual updates for $300/year

Thank you for the opportunity to design Vermont Horse Council’s website.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

                                                                                                            Sincerely,
